In the past year or so I have been attempting to resolve many problematics within my process and practice.
In these current works, the adjective 'poetic' was central to the aesthetic and concept. The idea of poetry-- a simplistic emotional expression, seemed the most pure and contained the most possibilities. The different bodies of work come from several separate explorations from different directions, but at their core they reflect a similar ambiance.
In terms of my process, I wanted to rethink the idea of creating. Although the concept tends to dictate the aesthetic, I want the physicality of the medium to shine through as well. In order to be most effective, sometimes my array of materials will come from unexpected places. For instance, my use of powders and polyurethane are not traditional in practice, but they are the most effective solutions.
I will be constantly revising and updating this site. Check back often.
